Causeway Bay

Challenge

LBrands — a leading international retailer with leading brands decided to open a new 51,000 sq.ft. Victoria's Secret flagship store on Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. It’s one of the most crowded and central areas in Hong Kong and it is known for excessive delivery restrictions. Opening a store in this location requires knowledge and excellent management.

 

Solution

Caliber established a temporary local warehouse for staging all inbound store development materials. By using the Caliber IT-platform, all parties in the supply chain were connected and updated real-time on progress and changes for each order. Our systems and the temporary warehouse made it possible for the General Contractor to call-off required materials on demand; day and night.

Results

Together with experienced local partners Caliber managed the last-mile logistics in compliance with local delivery restrictions. Store development materials were delivered to the jobsite, on time and on demand of the general contractor. In line with management and store planning for on-time store opening. Starbucks

Challenge

Starbucks has unique store designs in many countries and has recently been opening new stores all over the world. Caliber manages their projects with various growth models such as licensing, joint ventures and company owned. The challenge? An off-balance solution that includes demand planning, warehousing, transportation, customer service and installation or delivery support.

Solution

To support their growth, Caliber helps Starbucks with the placement of Purchase Orders at their local or regional partners. After uploading the product specifications into our systems, the complete process starts off; from supplier management to the generation of paper work and from picking up the goods at the suppliers to the - white glove - on demand delivery at the construction site. Project progress management, store planning and integrated communication with all parties within one overarching IT-system, was key.

 

Results

Caliber is actively supporting Starbucks (and some of its licensed partners) in the USA, Canada and EMEA regions. We’re supporting many new retail store openings, implementing new store designs, and we are diligently finishing renovation and relocation projects with total control and full visibility.

Lbrands

Challenge

LBrands—an international fashion retailer with leading brands including Victoria's Secret, PINK, Bath & Body Works, La Senza and Henri Bendel—was looking for a partner with extensive knowledge and experience in store development to support new retail store openings globally. After an exhaustive selection process including workshops, bidding, test projects and system capability assessment, the management team decided Caliber was the partner of choice.

Solution

Caliber managed the entire process including forecasting, workflow design, supply chain, transportation, warehousing, roll out, and master data for the development of more than 500 store openings in 42 countries working with over 150 suppliers.

Results

Caliber is proud to have supported LBrands with their the new store openings. Thanks to full end-to-end visibility, LBrands realized a significant CAPEX saving and reduced the time to build by a few weeks. Great result!

Bloomin’ Brands

Challenge

Bloomin’ Brands, Inc., is one of the world's largest casual dining companies with approximately 1,500 restaurants throughout 48 states and 23 countries, was in need of an experienced store development partner.

Solution

After partnering with Bloomin’ Brands, Inc., Caliber implemented various systems and process to streamline the supply chain workflow within the organization. The implementation of MyCaliber allowed for end-to-end visibility of active projects, purchase order management, master data management, shipment tracking, job-cost forecasting, demand forecasting, and roll-out management.

Results

Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. now has a better established and more cohesive supply chain. Caliber has brought end-to-end supply chain visibility while also establishing solid processes that are now firmly implemented within the company. Caliber has also successfully managed a large scale store opening for Carrabba’s Italian Grill their store design.

Fast remodel roll-out

Challenge

Recently LBrands requested Caliber to execute their remodeling called Pink Bra Roll Out. Requirements included the white glove delivery of 30,000 items from 4 suppliers to 472 different stores across North America within 5 weeks, and white glove delivery was the minimum service level to be performed.

Solution

With the use of our (Caliber) network we assigned 119 Consolidation Centers around 1 or multiple stores, built a cost and time efficient shipping plan, and the final mile per store was prepared and executed at the consolidation center. Communication channels were setup with all teams involved providing LBrands with real-time information during the store opening process.

Results

In 15 nights LBrands was able to upgrade 472 of their stores without lost capacity nor lost sales. 0 stores renovations were cancelled/postponed. All new stores opened on time. At LBrands this is known as the biggest, most complicated and best roll out ever executed.

Subway

Challenge

Subway is an American fast food restaurant franchise that sells submarine sandwiches and salads. It is the largest single-brand restaurant chain and the largest restaurant operator in the world. The challenge? To increase speed to market, control overall investments/expenses and limit the risks of expanding in Brazil.

Solution

To support the growth of Subway and their future store openings, Caliber developed tax and operational-friendly processes, forecast store growth, built a customized network and managed the entire master data and supplier base.

Results

With Caliber's help, Subway developed all processes to open more than 250 tax compliant stores and designed processes to reduce the overall development timeline by 60 days.

Iittala

Challenge

Iittala—a Finnish design brand specializing in design objects, tableware and cookware—was looking for experts in store development to help them with an innovative approach: opening new “shop in shops” worldwide.

Solution

Caliber helped Iittala achieve end-to-end visibility throughout the store development supply chain. By using a demand forecasting tool Caliber limited the risk of dead stock and improving delivery and installation performance. New and existing Iittala partners were linked to Caliber's ordering system, giving them access to up-to-date information on pricing and stock availability.

Results

Caliber managed the on time opening of their new “shop in shops” and with our help Iittala realized a significant reduction in their overall investment, increased speed to market and improved service performance for their partners.
