Every general contractor (GC) aims for quality, efficiency and on-time openings when building or renovating stores. However, while executing projects GCs often find themselves dealing with materials showing up to the job-site unannounced and arriving either too early or too late. This results in disruption, additional costs and extra communication. All this changes when working for a retailer that uses Caliber services. Connected to the MyCaliber system, GCs are constantly informed when materials are scheduled to arrive on-site. The GCs have one single point of contact for all supply and supplier related matters, which is the Caliber team.

Pop-up warehousing enabling delivery on-demand

Our pop-up warehousing concept (a staging location close to the job-site) provides the ultimate level of control for the GC. It makes on-demand delivery possible; after picking up the materials from suppliers Caliber stores them at a temporary warehouse in the proximity of the construction site. The MyCaliber system provides detailed information to the GC on inbound- and available inventory. Using this information, the GC can now call-off the right materials for just-in-time delivery to the job-site. In the case of unforeseen delays, rescheduling is easily facilitated.
